New connecting technology for Uponor press fittings

In spite of careful planning and, in some cases being only on site, one can see how the wall connection will be fitted. In the past, if the necessary solution was not immediately available, it was often necessary to obtain it first and install it later. Therefore the Uponor drinking water connections for the proven Uponor MLC composite pipe system offer fewer components but more installation options. Thus installation becomes more flexible, more efficient, and even faster.

With the new universal tap elbows, pre-assembled mounting sets, and carefully thought-out details such as drop-protected screws, Uponor simplifies building site assembly. The new Uponor press tap wall elbows reduce the complexity involved in ordering and maintaining supplies since the tap elbow can be installed directly surface-mounted. They can also be fitted on Uponor mounting bars or mounting plates to work as a bracket, saving time and money.

Uponor offers 16 different versions for the single, the 90°-double, and U-connection for MLC press joints available in sizes 16, 20, and 25. The flow-optimised U tap wall elbow permits the hygienically favourable linear connection of drinking water outlets from one to the next.

The carefully designed details of the new jointing technology make for a shorter fitting time. Once fitted to an Uponor mounting plate, mounting angle, or mounting bar, the tap elbow’s retaining bolt is first inserted from the back. The bolt holds the tap elbow in the desired position as it is placed on the bar. Only one hand is then needed to fix the tap elbow using a drop-protected screw.

The new mounting components also save time in many ways. Uponor supplies the mounting plate, a 2-metre-long mounting bar, two mounting angles, and one single mounting angle for fastening. Seven different ready-assembled mounting units for the most common applications, ½-inch connections, and 16 mm MLC press joints also save valuable time. Optionally, these can be supplemented by the tested and universally applicable Uponor sound protection set and the practical waste water set.

The waste water set is compatible with all the mounting plates and angles, and fixes the waste water elbow for wash basin connections. The DN 50 discharge elbow is in-cluded in the set.
