Cottages are designed in accordance with the eight Northern Art Nouveau style projects, which is reflected in the names of the buildings: Bergen, Flandia, Lund, Gratz. The style chosen is called to form a single architectural look of Marinee settlement that will facilitate plunging into atmosphere of the bygone era and to fully feel combination of comfortable life of the early XXI century and deeper relationship with nature which is often the case a modern city dweller dreams about.
Proximity to the Gulf of Finland, sand dunes, centuries-old pines, possibility to reach the Northern Capital easily and quickly and at the same time such remoteness from St. Petersburg which, for a lapse of time, allows one to get his/her urban anxieties out of mind, well, all these things have been attracting the country recreation devotees for a long time.
The owner of one of the houses being constructed in Marinee settlement in accordance with Bergen project decided to make his dwelling closer to the houses which are constructed in accordance with energy efficiency principle.
The customer wanted all systems under installation be blended with the private house's design. The owner refused to use traditional radiator heating, for to his/her mind it is not aesthetically acceptable and occupies a lot of room. In order to achieve the desired results the decision has been made to use the state-of-the-art Uponor heating and cooling systems.
The Uponor ceiling cooling system comprises the panels, controls, pipes, fittings, and a collector. The ceiling panels are made of 15 mm reinforced fireproof plasterboards with pre-designed system of Uponor eval Pex 9,9х1,1 mm pipes with an oxygen barrier and EPS insulation which improve the performance of the whole system and provides for its sound insulation.
Installation duration
After plastering, the functional tests should be performed for ceiling/wall systems.
If cement plaster is used at the site then the system may be run in 21 days, and if gypsum plaster is used, one may perform testing in seven days after plaster application.
Systems test run
Functional heating test should begin with flow in the range from 20°C to 25°C, with that temperature to be maintained during three days. Then the flow temperature should be increased to a maximum admissible value under project (for plaster it is max. 50 °C and/or in accordance with manufacturer's instructions) and maintained during not less than 4 days. The room should be fully ventilated. Drafts should be eliminated. The procedure of the functional heating test should be controlled manually or with the help of a designated programme, and be fully documented.
Kirill Prunenko, Chief Engineer at Alliance-Neva, comments: “It was Uponor products that we advised our customer to use, for our company has already worked with that brand and special mention can be made with respect to quality of materials
and at the same time they are simple to use. The Uponor ceiling cooling panels made of plaster are easy to install and do for any type of fit-out works, this is an advantage of Uponor products. A special emphasis should be made with respect to installation simplicity at any stage and a meticulously designed mount system. A big plus is that the heating and cooling systems are manufactured by the European company for the countries with similar climate conditions. At present the main installation works have been completed, now they bring together utilities in the engineering and utility services room.
It is expected that by autumn our part of work will be completed”.
