Reconstruction of Jõe and Pronksi Street
In October 2022, a full-scale reconstruction of Jõe and Pronksi Streets began. The street space, which is currently primarily car-centric, will be redesigned to be modern, safe, and accommodating to all modes of transportation.
As a result of the reconstruction, pedestrian mobility will improve, and bike lanes separated from the roadway will be created, along with green spaces where pedestrians can take a short break.
Furthermore, the streets will feature abundant new landscaping—tree-lined avenues on both sides to beautify the street. A total of 43 new trees will be planted during the reconstruction, along with 1,372 shrubs.
All underground utility networks—water, sewer, gas, and electricity—will also be upgraded, and a modern street lighting infrastructure will be installed.
