Building Information Modeling (BIM) stands for the digitalisation of civil engineering and the transition of conventional methods for planning construction process into digital environment. This presents technical planners with the challenge of solving complex design and construction tasks in as much detail and as efficiently as possible. Uponor therefore has developed a new BIM platform that offers planners and designers optimum support when working with BIM. The platform comprises the entire product library in open standards as well as smart tools for more efficient planning in Revit and a reliable service by our BIM experts.

The library contains the latest BIM models for all Uponor products and systems for hygienic drinking water supply, energy-efficient heating and cooling and reliable local heat distribution systems. All of a product’s functions, sizes and versions are logged in the same model. The model contains not only the 3D geometry, but also other information such as technical attributes, identity data and the number of items per pack. The Uponor products are made available in multiple CAD and BIM formats, such as Revit, IFC and DWG. Thanks to the integrated openBIM industry standards, data can be used and shared across different software, giving technical planners the freedom to participate in any BIM project irrespective of the software used by the other project stakeholders.

Uponor additionally provides tools that automate and optimise the designing process in the most widely used BIM software Revit. For example, users can use a plug-in to integrate the entire BIM library directly into Revit, making it even easier for them to search for the right objects, position and edit them, and even develop entire systems.
