Energy-efficient housing, Gällivare, Sweden
The temporary workers of Maskintjänst AB in Gällivare, Sweden, can choose to stay at an elegant and energy-efficient house instead of a hotel. The house built by Englundshus AB is an energy-efficient house with high performance insulation system and low energy consumption. The house is equipped with energy efficient windows and extra thick walls.
"Energy consumption is estimated to 10 000 kWh per year, which is half the consumption of a traditional house in Gällivare. As energy source, we have used ground and solar energy, enhanced with a geothermal heat pump", says Sven Lindbäck from the house manufacturer Englundshus.
Uponor’s underfloor heating was installed in all the rooms to ensure low power consumption while maintaining a comfortable indoor climate. The underfloor heating loops are installed into mounting panels equipped with installation, which are then embedded in concrete. The temperature can be handled by Uponor’s wireless thermostats with display; the Uponor T-75 thermostat can be found from every room.
“Uponor’s systems work well, and in addition you get great advice and tips from Uponor customer support,” adds Fredrik Johansson from Lennarts VVS-Tjänst, the company in charge of installations on site.
