European Quarter Residential Development
The central district of Samara, its historic center, where today a modern residential estate European Quarter is located before the construction started was a land area of 2,604 hectares built up mostly with pre-revolutionary one-storied wooden or brick houses with a significant percentage of technical deterioration and obsolescence and without amenities.
Construction was carried out by stages, during several years, from 2000 to 2009. Taking into account the historic value of the buildings located in the very heart of the city, careful demolition of existing buildings and relocation of families living in them was conducted by the developer, Samarazhilinvest construction company. Today, all the apartment houses of European quarter are high rise buildings with modern engineering solutions.
The residential estate is located in the Leninsky district of Samara, in the 110th building block within the boundaries of streets Malogvardeiskaya, Vilonovskaya, Chapaevskaya and Ulyanovskaya. The main building consisting of 21 sections is adopted by the perimeter, with a variable-rise (7-13 floors). Two projects of Bulgarian architects - "Best House" and "VIP House” – were taken as a basis for projects of Samara "skyscrapers" located in European quarter. "Best House" has a cylindrical shape divided into four sections looking like slices.
The quarter was created as an individual architectural project, with the use of monolithic-brick and brick construction technologies, using ventilated facades insulated according to the Finnish technology and aluminum windows constructions. While realizing the project of the construction throughout the quarter in the Leninsky district totally new engineering utility networks were built, to which not only residential houses were connected, but also all the other buildings of the quarter.
This is the only residential quarter in Samara where together with housing constructions a parking for 239 cars was built, not counting the parking spaces that exist under the houses, in total about 500 parking spaces are provided.
