Located in a 26 Acres site in Ampang Hilir, the new campus for the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) is now in progress of construction and expected to complete and open in August 2018. ISKL new campus is designed to create the most advanced learning environment, featuring academic and athletic resources. This includes world-class science labs and classrooms with flexible teaching spaces, two libraries, gymnasiums, competition swimming facilities, regulation track, and playing fields.

Apart from world-class facilities for students, ISKL also integrated ’green’ design facilities in the campus, Uponor’s indoor climate solution was selected as one of the applications for the campus’s green construction.

While tender requiring high quality PEX-a pipes embedded in the concrete structure to thermally activated concrete slabs and discharge cooling loads during the night which occurring during the day time, Uponor’s Contec ceiling radiant cooling system was recommended and installed in the campus cooling 11,000m2. The operating temperature of the system is close to the ambient temperature. It is invisible, noiseless and without any draught. Therefore, provides architectural and interior design freedom of decorations without fan coils and other cumbersome devices. Thus, the Uponor Contec system can be ideally combined with renewable energy sources. The school is to be a sustainable exemplar both for the region and the world, aiming to obtain platinum Green Building Index (GBI).
