A 20-metre waste storage tank, without joints
We delivered a retention tank with a built-in sand trap and vortex chamber to a residential project in Storo, Oslo. A single delivery, with no need for a mobile crane or traffic control, made this an efficient process.

We supplied a retention basin for stormwater management at new apartment buildings in Storo, Oslo. Here, the customer received a custom-designed basin featuring a built-in sand trap and a vortex chamber with a flow regulator preset to release 5 l/s into the stormwater network.
A seamless tank – efficiently delivered to a busy area
One of the reasons this solution was chosen was because we could deliver a single, seamless tank. This meant only one delivery was required. Furthermore, neither a mobile crane nor traffic control was needed; only an on-site excavator and one person to safely lower the tank into the trench. This was highly advantageous in this high-traffic area.
NOTE: In this project, straps were used to prevent the retention basin from tipping over before the trench was backfilled. This is not required when installing our basins.
HSE-friendly solution
Another advantage of a Weholite retention tank is that it has a lower weight compared to concrete. This means less weight for workers to handle. Since the tank is delivered as a single unit, there are also fewer lifts required.
Tanks made from 100% recyclable material
A Weholite tank also offers environmental benefits. Our Weholite solutions have a design life of over 100 years, and at the end of its service life, the tank can be recycled—provided the water brake and the cast iron frame and covers on the access hatches are removed.
