Helping Companions that Have a "Ruff Start"

by Brooke Roberts

She can’t imagine a home without a pet, so Brooke Roberts, Marketing Content Associate Manager, BLD-NA Communications, is volunteering to help families find their forever family member – and maybe enjoy a little puppy play time too – at Ruff Start Rescue, a foster-based non-profit companion animal rescue organization that primarily serves communities throughout the state of Minnesota, as well as states in the southern USA with severe pet overpopulation.

“Anyone who spends any time with me knows I’m an animal lover and I love seeing colleagues’ pets on our Teams video calls,” Brooke shares. “I grew up with dogs, cats, ducks, horses, and fish and currently I have an 11-year-old cat who very much likes being an ‘only child’, which limits my ability to add additional pets to my home.”

Like me, Ruff Start values compassion, commitment, connection, innovation, and authenticity. These values are also in alignment with the Uponor values - Connect. Build. Inspire.

So, to continue to enjoy more pets in her life, Brooke is using her paid Uponor Volunteer Time Off (VTO) at Ruff Start Rescue. “Like me, Ruff Start values compassion, commitment, connection, innovation, and authenticity. These values are also in alignment with the Uponor values - Connect. Build. Inspire.”

The Ruff Start vision is of a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving forever home, and their family has the knowledge and resources needed to give them the life they deserve.
