From Dry Fit to Secure Connection: The Uponor ProPEX® Advantage

By Maddy Dolby

Dry fitting is one of the worst problems to have when completing a project, because it can lead to a lot of water on the floor.

A dry fit, according to GF Trainer Jed Koep, is when a plumber pre-assembles a piping connection but doesn’t use a tool to complete it. A dry fit can hold pressure through an air test, but it will eventually pop off and end up leaking. This can happen anywhere between a few days, weeks, or months.

With an Uponor ProPEX® connection system, a dry-fit connection is physically impossible. The pipe must be expanded first before the fitting can be inserted. With this connection system, the possibility of a dry fit has been completely eliminated.

The Uponor PEX-a pipe and ProPEX connection system is designed for strength and durability, offering the most efficient use of materials for the most effective water delivery in both commercial and residential applications.
