By Maddy Dolby
Dan Hubbard, Customer Trainer at GF, had the opportunity to speak more on his GF Flow Symposium breakout session, Residential Fire Protection: Opportunities with Updated IRC Requirements and Understanding Code Implications, on the Appetite for Construction podcast, produced by Mechanical Hub and co-hosted by John Mesenbrink and Tim Ward.
The GF Flow Symposium was held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. The inaugural event brought together builders, developers, contractors, engineers and executives to explore the future of system solutions across residential, commercial, infrastructure, and industrial markets.
During the “Peak Flow” episode, Hubbard discussed how Uponor AquaSAFE™ residential fire sprinkler systems can be utilized in townhomes, while also highlighting business opportunities for plumbing contractors related to fire protection upgrades and code requirements. He examined key tradeoffs between standalone fire sprinkler systems and multipurpose plumbing and fire sprinkler systems and provided insight on how contractors can navigate fire protection system requirements on a local level.
Hubbard also discussed the Uponor Experience Center, which is located at GF’s North American headquarters in Apple Valley, Minn., and the impact it has had on building relationships between GF sales representatives and industry contractors.
