Green Builder VISION House Transcend Features Uponor Products for Comfort, Safety, and Sustainability

Green Builder Media recently completed VISION House Transcend, a net-zero, all-electric, solar, resilient, prefabricated home located in the Colorado Rockies that includes Uponor solutions to help increase comfort, safety, and sustainability throughout.

For maximum indoor environmental quality, the home features an Uponor radiant heating and cooling system. Typically installed in the floor, this radiant system has a unique twist—ceiling panels—which are the first application of this product in North America. Prevalent throughout Europe and Australia, the ceiling panels incorporate Uponor PEX pipe to circulate warm or cool water throughout the system and provide energy-efficient comfort that pairs well with the sustainable heating and cooling sources in the design.

For accurate, efficient control of the radiant heating and cooling system, the home also includes an Uponor Smatrix Pulse wireless control system. This innovative product provides precise wireless control of both radiant and forced-air systems with one solution that connects to a smart home assistant and can also be controlled remotely via an app.

For added sustainability and a life-saving resource, the home also includes an Uponor AquaSAFE™ fire sprinkler system. This remarkable solution capitalizes on the durability and corrosion-resistance of Uponor AquaPEX^® pipe and ProPEX^® expansion fittings for a fire suppression system that provides added peace of mind, which is especially important in areas with increased risk of wildfires.
