Uponor Took AHR 2024 by Storm

by Alex Gross and Daniel Worm

As the largest North American industry event for HVACR professionals, the 2024 AHR Expo in Chicago this past January was the ideal venue for Uponor to showcase the newest products and services for professionals.

One of the highlights from the Uponor booth included Kitting Services, which launched in the U.S. in 2023 and now is extending into Canada in 2024. The service provides customized, coordinated packaging with all essential ProPEX® fittings, rings, transitions, valves, stub outs, supports, and other components in individual kits labeled by room. The kits include a materials list, plan view, and 3D isometric drawing for a clear installation plan along with scheduled delivery by level or phase to streamline the project and eliminate job-site clutter. This revolutionary service saves significant money by reducing labor costs and eliminating unnecessary material purchasing and handling while also reducing waste.

Another feature at the booth included Uponor PP-RCT — a polymer piping system for plumbing, hydronic hot-water heating, and chilled-water applications. Available in sizes up to 12", PP-RCT is a durable, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant solution that uses heat-fusion technology to make reliable connections without the need for open flame or fire watch on a jobsite. Uponor PP-RCT works well as a hybrid piping system with Uponor PEX-a and ProPEX fittings for a complete polymer solution backed by a 25-year warranty.

Uponor also showcased the reintroduction of its AquaPEX® Blue full-color pipe for residential and commercial plumbing applications. Designed for potable cold-water systems, the blue pipe helps address skilled-labor challenges by providing complete color differentiation. The flexible, corrosion-resistant, PEX-a pipe features the highest chlorine resistance rating of ‘5’ along with 6 months of UV protection for added durability.
