James Griffiths is Head of Projects at GF Building Flow Solutions UK and Ireland. With over 27 years' experience at GF, predominantly with Uponor, James has worked on a variety of commercial and residential projects.
James' motto is 'changing the world one pipe at a time' and he is just as passionate about projects now as he was 20 years ago. He believes it is vital to take learning from other markets in order to make an impactful change and is passionate about educating the industry.
He manages both the project development teams and the Technical & Design support functions, maintaining close involvement across all stages of delivery. He is a hands-on leader, equally comfortable presenting CIBSE-certified CPDs to clients and stakeholders as he is working through technical challenges on new projects. His approach combines practical problem-solving with strong technical knowledge, ensuring issues are identified early and resolved efficiently to keep projects on track.
He considers design as an extremely important stage within the construction of a building and works closely with MEP consultants to design systems with longevity and efficiency in mind. A stickler for detail, James is always looking at marginal improvements to improve the building's performance, something his customers value.
Originally trained as an Electrical Engineer, James chose to retrain as a Mechanical Engineer, including Construction Site Management. It was after becoming a Mechanical Engineer that James spent 12 years working as a Senior Project/Design Engineer at Uponor. In this role he provided design and technical support for systems and controls, played a key part in designing technically sound project solutions and became part of the team involved in product review. He worked with a broad range of customers including developers, main contractors, M&E consultants.
He has collaborated with a variety of customers and teams to deliver bespoke projects within the UK indoor climate market and across the wider building service sector or similar.
Outside of work, when not on the golf course or walking his best friend, Winston the dog, James can be found reading journals or in his garage tinkering – taking things apart and building them back up to see how they were made.
Originally trained as an Electrical Engineer, James later retrained as a Mechanical Engineer, including Construction Site Management. Following this transition, he spent 12 years at Uponor as a Senior Project/Design Engineer, providing design and technical support for systems and controls. From there, James progressed into senior sales leadership roles before returning to projects to lead the direction and delivery of project solutions across the UK. He has been a member of the UK Commercial Leadership team for the past 8 years, bringing combined experience across engineering, sales, and project delivery to drive strategic outcomes
Anthony Kay is Business Development for the North of the UK in the Projects Team at GF Building Flow Solutions. His varied role spans from engaging with consultants and developers on the best pipework design to meet the latest legislation and regulations through to advising on how to use GF's broad range of revit plug-ins and BIM files most effectively.
Anthony is proud to work closely with consultants on more complex projects that require innovative ways of thinking. He thrives on breaking down a problem, looking for ways to simplify and provide the most effective solution. One recent project is a train depot in Yorkshire that required underfloor heating under the platforms of the maintenance shed.
Anthony enjoys talking to consultants about how far MLCP has technologically improved and how it is a credible, more sustainable alternative to copper or steel. He's always more than happy to present a CPD on the subject and share his knowledge on how to create the most energy efficient pipework system.
He is passionate about improving the built environment for the better - to find ways to create a joined-up thinking approach to provide more sustainable solutions. He is excited about the future of the industry and believes the energy transition allows for more opportunities to innovate and improve building performance.
Anthony is fully committed to the work GF are doing to improve the sustainability of product ranges and works with teams to advise on how to use EPDs most effectively, something he can then share with his customers.
Outside of work Anthony is a keen cyclist, both road and mountain bike and loves exploring the local countryside as a way to keep fit. When he is not on two wheels, you'll find him researching his passion for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) and visiting Leeds Armoury to see the oldest book on the subject.

With over 25 years’ experience, Chris has seen first-hand how the construction industry is changing from being product-led to more solutions-focused.
Chris is passionate about explaining how much depth of knowledge and technicality is required in pipework. In his opinion, a pipe is not just a pipe - pipework is the veins and arteries of a building – vital to the health and wellbeing of the building and its occupants. He notes that well-designed pipework can significantly enhance a building’s overall performance and efficiency, while poorly executed pipework can potentially cause extensive damage, major disruption, and significant additional costs.
He states that GF are well placed to advise MEP consultants on maximising the performance of pipework and explains to his customers how GF designs and manufactures pipe to the highest standards and legislation in each of its markets. As such, the UK construction market benefits from this level of European engineering and quality.
Chris began his career at City Electrical Factors as store manager before moving into consultative roles at leading heating manufacturers, developing low carbon and prefabricated solutions using modern methods of construction (MMC). Based in the Midlands, Chris has supported a wide range of building services projects across the heart of the country.
Outside of work, Chris is a keen adventurer and spent months backpacking solo across Canada. These days, Chris has a number of other jobs in his spare time – a taxi driver, personal chef and hair stylist to name a few - as a proud dad to his daughter.
Diana is enthusiastic about sharing the latest pipework innovations in building systems, as well as the wide range of GF products, with a strong focus on sustainability. She highlights how these solutions support energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact and contribute to more sustainable building practices. Her clients are often surprised at how extensive and wide ranging he overall product offering is.
As a keen problem solver, Diana is proud of supporting customers on some of their more complex projects - whether that involves challenging building layouts that make it more difficult for contractors to install more traditional solutions, or the integration of multiple systems into a single, cohesive solution.
Diana enjoys engaging with clients across all aspects of their projects, whether that involves delivering CPDs and exploring BIM options to ensure the best possible outcomes for customers. As a CIBSE member, she regularly attends key industry events such as the CIBSE Decarbonisation Conference. Diana is always looking to stay at the forefront of the latest developments and has completed a variety of CIBSE courses, including the design of heating and chilled water pipe systems, enabling her to provide technical guidance to her customers.
Diana began her career at GF six years ago in the Technical Design and Support department, where she advised customers on technical design details and provided bills of materials. She later went on to lead this team for a number of years. She has now taken this experience into the Projects Team, where she supports clients with the sustainable building system solutions that GF can offer.
Outside of work, Diana enjoys going to the gym and playing tennis, and when relaxing she reads books on personal growth and self-development. She is also fluent in two languages. She is passionate about continuous improvement and enjoys an active, goal-driven lifestyle.
