iF Design Award and German Innovation Award for the Uponor I-Shower

GF Building Flow Solutions is proud to announce that its Uponor I-Shower has not only received the prestigious German Innovation Award 2025 but also won the highly acclaimed iF Design Award 2025 for its state-of-the-art digital shower controller. These recognitions highlight the company’s dedication to driving innovation, sustainability, and user-centered design in the building industry.

The Uponor I-Shower is setting a new standard of shower experience providing highest shower comfort, while saving water and energy, enabling full architectural and design freedom, and reducing installation time. Re-engineering the electrical shower mixer unit into the Uponor Combi Port flat station, the I-Shower installation is limited to only one pipe per shower outlet. The powerful combination results in energy-saving and hygienic decentralized hot water supply with the shower comfort of electronic mixers.
The individual shower experience is regulated through a digital controller unit, combining iF Design Award-winning design with great accessibility, where the product clearly conveys functionality, even for users familiar with traditional shower controllers.
Following the iF Design Award 2025 for the digital controller of the shower solution, the German Innovation Award 2025 celebrates the Uponor I-Shower as a groundbreaking system that merges cutting-edge technology with intuitive operation, offering shower comfort while significantly reducing water and energy consumption.

The Uponor I-Shower impressed the German Innovation Award jury as “…a system that, through intelligent technology and intuitive operation, not only enables personalized shower profiles but also significantly reduces water and energy consumption. The combination of minimalist Scandinavian design and future-proof functionality distinguishes the product, making it a trend-setting solution that enhances both everyday comfort and ecological responsibility.”
Torsten Meier, Chief Innovation Officer, GF Building Flow Solutions, proudly says: “For the regulation of the shower experience, we developed a digital controller that combines timeless design with intuitive functionality. From concept to launch, the Uponor I-Shower reflects our commitment to pushing boundaries and creating solutions that not only look great but truly make a difference. Winning the iF Design Award and receiving recognition from the German Design Council validates our innovation strategy and honors the visionary ideas, intelligent solutions, and meaningful impact behind our work. We’re proud to be part of a movement dedicated to sustainably improving life through progress.”
