Product data collection and use notice
This notice is to inform you about data collected by the device. For personal data, please see https://www.uponor.com/en-en/legal-information/uponor-smatrix-pulse-app-privacy-policy
Device Name: Uponor Smatrix Pulse
Manufacturer: Uponor GmbH
Key information:
Smatrix Pulse collects comprehensive radiant heating and cooling system data to guarantee comfort and optimal performance. Key data points include room temperature, humidity, setpoints, connectivity status, actuator states, control signals and usage metrics on the radiant heating and cooling system. These data points encompass various types, such as numerical (e.g., temperature), Boolean (e.g., availability of channels within system, mode settings), and alphanumerical (e.g., room names).
Data is collected whenever a system value changes; this includes but is not limited to changes in sensor readings, system behavior or configuration values. This results in an estimated data volume ranging from 20MB up to a gigabyte per year. This large variation is caused by differences in installation topology (number of controllers and/or thermostats) and variation in the frequency of events that trigger data collection. Typical data volume is between 20-50MB per year per installation.
Collected data is transmitted securely to a cloud-based platform where it is stored for historical tracking. Smatrix Pulse adheres to industry-standard data retention policies, generally keeping data for at least 6 months, after which it may be aggregated or deleted unless extended storage is required.
The system ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and implements robust encryption for data in transit and at rest, safeguarding sensitive installation and user information.
DATA TYPES AND FORMAT:
Data type: temperature, humidity, setpoints, connectivity information, actuator states, control signals, radiant heating and cooling system usage metrics, radiant heating and cooling system configuration information.
Format: MQTT/JSON
Estimated Volume: 20-50 MB per year
DATA GENERATION FREQUENCY:
Event-triggered data collection (when a value in the system changes)
DATA STORAGE:
On-device storage
Only some local configuration parameters (e.g; WiFi config information)
Retention period: In-memory data that lasts until factory reset.
Cloud storage
Every variable in the system
Retention period: 6 months
DATA ACCESS METHODS:
Users whose system includes a communication module may access their data through Uponor Smatrix Pulse 2, available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users can access data on their installations and visualize up to 6 months of historical data on key data points. Terms of use for Uponor Smatrix Pulse 2 App and the Smatrix Pulse service overall can be found here:
https://www.uponor.com/en-en/legal-information/uponor-smatrix-pulse-products-and-services-terms-of-use
Quality of service on access to this data is guaranteed by industry standard best practices regarding resilience, scalability, availability, privacy and security for cloud-based services.
DATA DELETION:
How to delete: Customers must contact support to request data deletion. This can be done through the contact/support forms within the Uponor web site (there are links to these in the app) by selecting the appropriate category for the support inquiry.
Exceptions: All data can be removed
Version: 25-07-23
