Uponor puts new warehouse in Świebodzice into operation
Relevant milestone in Capricorn integration:
Following its growth strategy in Europe, Uponor is working on fully integrating Capricorn S.A. after acquiring the company last year. The next important milestone of this common journey was the inauguration of a new warehouse in Świebodzice, Poland, on the 09th of June.

The acquisition of Capricorn S.A. is an important further step in the implementation of the Uponor growth strategy for Europe. “Eastern Europe and Poland in particular are important markets for us, but we are continuously growing on the whole continent. With the new location in Świebodzice, we are even stronger represented locally. In addition, Capricorn’s expertise in underfloor heating and prefabricated products makes the company an important building block in achieving our goals,” says Dr. Karsten Hoppe, President, Building Solutions - Europe at Uponor.
Jacek Dobrowolski, Vice President Building Solutions - Europe Sales and Marketing for Eastern Europe at Uponor, adds: “The integration of Capricorn into the Uponor family is going according to plan and we have made great progress so far. Both teams are working together very well to allow for a smooth and seamless transition.” Uponor acquired the Polish company in November 2021. All 400 former Capricorn employees were part of the acquisition and will continue to work in Świebodzice.
Investment into Świebodzice with new warehouse
With Capricorn, the expert for safe drinking water delivery systems and energy-efficient radiant heating and cooling solutions expands its logistics network and production footprint in Europe. As an investment into the location and part of this expansion, Uponor opened a new warehouse in Świebodzice in early June. The building features a high bay area, a picking and confectioning area for sales orders as well as social and office spaces, and doubles the storage capacity in Świebodzice, creating the right conditions for the location to serve the customers in the region in the future.
“The new warehouse is an important visible milestone on the journey that we started with the acquisition last year and an investment into the growth of this location,” says Dobrowolski. Going forward, Świebodzice will become an Uponor excellence centre for selected heating and water system components.
Brand integration in 2023
Integrating the Świebodzice location into the Uponor logistics and manufacturing network is only the beginning. As a consequent next step in the integration process, Capricorn’s portfolio is set to become an integral part of the Uponor brand by 2023. “Bringing Capricorn into the Uponor family is a logical step for us as their portfolio perfectly complements our existing product range. This means that Uponor and Capricorn customers will have access to a broader heating, cooling, and water systems product offer, including new applications. They will benefit from innovations that move productivity and sustainability forward and drive energy transition under one common brand,” says Dr. Hoppe.
