La dalle active Uponor est intégrée depuis 2017 dans l’immeuble Delta Green, bâtiment tertiaire de 4600m2 comprenant 4 niveaux. Celui-ci est le premier bâtiment de la région tout à fait autonome en énergie.

A flexible waterfront building
A building of this size with large glass surfaces and open floor plans makes it difficult to manage comfort and energy consumption simultaneously. Although the energy statistics were already in a good range, there was still room for improvement.
The challenge began in 2021 when the building was completely redesigned to cut energy waste. Uponor Ecomate was installed to gain actionable insights into heating, cooling and power usage and improve the Town Hall's energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Innovative improvements in an inspirational environment
Electricity consumption was at a high idle level. The ventilation system was active outside of business hours, and the temperature provided by the air heating ceiling was too high.
Heating / cooling
The poor cooling of the district heating system led to very high consumption, and the radiators had to be adjusted on all floors.
The CO2 sensors required recalibration.
The built-up area of the building amounts to 1,472 m2 per all 5 floors. Because of the open architecture, there are no walls to insulate the individual floors.
Based on the findings obtained with our sensors, we estimated that the ground floor requires 100% heating. The remaining 4 floors, however, only require 20%. Using this calculation, the total heating area of 8,600 m2 decreased to 2660.4 m2.
Consequently, the energy consumption dropped from 376,920 kWh per 2660.4 m2 square metre to 141.7 kWh/m2.
Optimisation of the building's heating, cooling and ventilation systems resulted in the following savings:
- 311,084 kWh/year
(combined heating / cooling and electricity)
- € 27,000/year
- 15.8 tonnes CO2/year
- ROI: 3 months
- Weather-dependent heating control enabled a further energy efficiency potential of 15%

Le bâtiment économe en énergie accueillera une gamme variée d’activités propres à l’Institut Mines - Télécom : formations, recherches, transfert et innovation.
Le nouveau siège social du Groupe Der Spiegel est situé au Ericusspitze. La Dalle Active UPONOR garantit des températures confortables dans le bâtiment.
Varicool heating and cooling panels were installed to the meeting room's ceiling. The new hydronic system replaced the old fan coil unit system. Varicool system is a radiant heating and cooling system. The panels do not heat or cool the indoor air directly but the surfaces what radiant covers.
Thermal concrete core activation with Uponor Contec provides economical, energy-efficient and sustainable building temperature control in the new landmark Adlershof Science and Technology Centre.
A hygienically optimal drinking water installation was integrated into the new office complex – thanks to Uni Pipe PLUS within a very short time.
First radiant ceiling cooling renovation project in tropical climate – Singapore
Uponor were nominated as the sole supplier for radiant heating systems for the Sunesis Schools schemes, with Main Contractor Willmott Dixon. Sunesis is a Joint Venture between Scape and Willmott Dixon, built on the combined experience of public sector know-how and private expertise. They are the market leader in delivering pre-designed buildings across a range of market sectors. Every design has a defined layout, specification, fixed cost and timescale to construct. The full benefits of a full BIM model are also utilised.
