Demo smart house «IC Smart HOUSE live»
In 2013 the first intelligent demo smart building in Ukraine was built. It became the unique smart platform with an area of 600 sq.m. which implements all innovative solutions, tests equipment from European and Ukrainian manufacturers and fulfill the full cycle of intelligent automation systems implementation.
To provide comfort and sustainability in the building was chosen Uponor Renovis, a ceiling heating ang cooling system. The heat carrier is water, which is heated by solar energy accumulated by solar panels. To increase the efficiency of the system was also integrated an smart control system, which allowed to setup and adjust the parameters of the microclimate in the building. In 2020, the smart home became the first platform in Ukraine where was installed and tested Phyn Plus.
This unique demo smart building provide the ability to participate in a live demonstration of smart systems functioning, to see the sustainability and efficiency of intelligent and innovative engineering solutions provided by Uponor and other companies which could be efficiently implemented into humans life being.

Day-care centre to be built with energy piles
As requested by the City of Vantaa, the Vaaralanpuisto day-care centre has been planned based on the "nearly 0 energy days" concept. Construction work for the day-care centre began in late summer 2016, and the project will be completed in July 2017. Project costs are estimated at EUR 5.4 million, and the day-care centre will accommodate about 130 children. The New Deichmanske Library - Bjørvika, Oslo
Deichman is equipped with Thermally Active Building System - a system for storing the energy in the concrete ceiling. It is primarily a cooling system, but it can also be used as a heating system. When in cooling mode, no energy is used as the heat is drawn into the concrete, only when it is transferred from the concrete and into the water pipes that are cast in the decking. The need for installed power is reduced, and operating expenses are significantly reduced as opposed to in a air-based cooling system. The TABS is cast into the Prefab elements, which is a BubbleDeck construction with spans up to 10.5 meters.

The plumbing company Mälardalens Rör in Västerås moved from their premises that they had been in since the end of the 80s. In November 2021, the first test trench was taken and at the turn of the year 2022/2023 they moved into the new office on a plot of land they have owned for a long time. We visited and spoke with the owners Robert Lind and Veronica Lange to hear more about the project.

Due to the interest rates of the floor structures, underfloor heating at Uponor's new head office required a solution that would raise the floor surface as little as possible. A functional result was achieved with an unusual implementation, low-structure underfloor heating plates, which are mainly used in renovations of detached houses, and which increase the floor height by only 15 millimetres.
