New office in Västerås with a focus on modern and environmentally friendly solutions , Västerås, Sweden
Mälardalens Rör
- Our common focus throughout the project was to partially build with the environment in mind. It was high on the agenda. We chose to use Uponor's plumbing solutions all the way as it was both environmentally friendly and energy efficient in the long term, says Robert Lind, CEO at Mälardalens Rör.
As the company is growing, they needed a bigger office. Then they took the opportunity to really get it exactly as they wanted. Larger, more modern and with the environment high on the agenda made it an energy project and a building project in one.
- By hiring an interior designer with a focus on standard materials, where color and shape create a pleasant environment within the budget, we have been able to keep costs down without compromising on quality, says Veronica Lange, owner and administrator at Mälardalens Rör.
Underfloor heating became an important part of the solution because you can have a low-temperature supply temperature, which saves energy. They now have a user-friendly and energy-saving regulation system without sacrificing comfort. Another environmentally friendly choice was to use Uponor's bio-based PEX-pipes in the tap water system. Uponor Smatrix Base.
That Mälardalens Rör chose Uponor's products for the new construction was not a difficult choice as they work almost exclusively with Uponor. It was considered an obvious choice.
- The fact that we are used to Uponor's products was a big advantage and that we get such good and quick help when we need it. We like to shop locally, of course, says Robert Lind.
The result was good and everyone has enjoyed themselves since moving in at the beginning of 2023.
- The best thing about the new office is the space! We are proud of our beautiful office. The underfloor heating was a matter of course for us, so of course we are also happy with that. With a good combination of function and design, we have set the stage for free team building, which means a lot to us, says Veronica Lange.
