A residential development by the property group Neinor Homes, comprising 316 homes spread across four buildings within a gated community. It is situated in the municipality of Las Rozas, specifically in the La Marazuela area, a new residential development known for its low housing density and stunning natural surroundings.

Uponor has contributed to this project with its Uponor Klett solutions for water distribution, Invisible Climate Control via underfloor heating (heating), and its Uponor Combi Port units – pre-assembled, bespoke solutions for plumbing and Invisible Climate Control.

A prime location overlooking El Pardo, featuring active and passive systems for a sustainable design with BREEAM certification

The comfort and energy efficiency of Amara Homes are achieved through a combination of passive and active systems.

As regards its passive systems, particular attention is drawn to the building’s orientation, the use of natural light and the façade, which ensure a reduction in the building’s energy demand and cross-ventilation within the dwellings. Meanwhile, the installation of active systems, such as centralised heating via Uponor’s Invisible Climate Control system using underfloor heating, and DHW via a high-efficiency natural gas condensing boiler supported by a solar installation, complete the development’s sustainability proposal, which has facilitated the award of BREEAM certification.

Furthermore, the installation of Uponor’s Combi Port water transfer system delivers energy savings of up to 40%, whilst providing hygienic hot water and greater comfort in terms of domestic hot water and indoor temperature.

PEX Drives Efficient In-Slab High-Rise Install

ACCO Engineered Systems sought a plumbing solution that could be installed in a concrete slab to allow for higher ceilings in the residential units. This type of installation had never been done before by any other plumbing contractor in the city of Los Angeles. Going into the project, they knew they had a tight installation timeline of plumbing one 16-unit floor per week and needed a system that facilitated a quick installation while maintaining reliability. The plumbing subcontractor, ACCO, also wanted a strong product warranty for added confidence. They have a long history record and are well versed in high-rise installations, so they wanted a brand that offered support throughout the entire construction cycle to help ensure a smooth installation from start to finish.

The company manages 124 flats, which were subject to an overhaul of their water supply and sewerage systems. Underfloor cooling adds value to new construction

Postitalo, the former post office building in downtown Tampere, got a new look in 2017 when it was renovated into new commercial premises and a block of flats was built on top. The heat distribution system of choice was Uponor's underfloor heating and cooling system, which was installed in all flats.

Aleksanterinkatu 5 in Lahti will be completed with R2I blocks

An 8-storey apartment is rising in a former bank district in Lahti. The target will contain 265 apartments and is designed by A1 Arkkitehdit Oy and will be built by Nuorisosäätiö. There are 256 rental apartments reserved for students on floors 2-7. Uponor R2I blocks will be installed in all of the student-apartments in connection with bathroom and kitchen elements. Aleksi 5 is the first new destination in which R2I blocks are being delivered and in which sound-absorbing Decibel drains are used.
