In december 2020 one of the first Ecoflex VIP pre insulated pipes were installed in Sweden. 45 meter long section with Ecoflex Thermo VIP Twin 2x25 was installed to transport heat från a central heating unit to a “Swimspa”.

The installation took less than half an house, which includes rolling out the pre insulated pipes, dragging it to the sub center, peeling off the case and installing the end cap. Cold weather usually means more difficult handling, but everything went smooth despite temperatures well below zero.

Rasmus Källström at Mälardalen Rör was one of the first installers in Sweden to install Ecoflex VIP pre insulated pipes.

"It was very to roll it out. There was a small obstable with some cables in the shaft, but it was easy to drag the pipes under the cables, since the VIP-pipes has a significantly smaller case. It also went fast to connect it to the system inside the house, and I had no issues doing it myself. The good thing about Ecoflex VIP is that is not that stiff compared to other pre insulated pipes, and I needed no special tools, so the installation only took about twenty minutes."

D'or Appartements

In one of the most beautiful parts of Budapest, at the bottom of the Sas hill, there is this 88 flat condominium called "D'or Appartements", which consists of 3 blocks. On the 1.23 acre property, there are three 5-story blocks of 32, 31 and 25 flats respectively. The most important aspect in the design of the flats was to create ideal living-space, thus homes between 46 m2 and 105 m2 can be found in the buildings.

All 24 homes in the development feature Uponor AquaPEX® plumbing systems and AquaSAFE™ fire sprinkler systems with ProPEX® fittings in ½" to 1½" sizes. The multipurpose fire sprinkler systems seamlessly integrate into the home’s cold-water plumbing system, which increases the speed of installation and provides homeowners with greater peace of mind.

Six housing companies located in the Hurttivuori district in Turku have a joint heating plant – Nokikana Oy. The terraced houses, which were built between 1975 and 1977, contain a total of 104 flats. Heating and water are supplied to all flats by a joint heating plant. Renovating the piping system became a necessity due to leaks. The plant's insulated elements were renovated in such a way that all residents were able to live in their homes for the entire duration of the renovation.
