Uponor Vortex stormwater solution

The City of Espoo is the first in Finland to introduce the Vortex stormwater separation chamber. It can be used to efficiently separate floating and descending solids from stormwater. The aim is to reduce the maintenance costs of the retention system built from stormwater tunnels and prevent solids from ending up in waterbodies.

Uponor filter chamber part of the stormwater study

In recent years, stormwater quality management has become an increasingly important part of urban stormwater strategies. A pilot project was launched in Heinola to clean stormwater with innovative filter chambers developed by Uponor. At the same time, valuable research data will be collected on stormwater quality from two different types of areas and on the treatment results achieved with filter chambers.

Record-breaking pipes in Keljonlahti

Construction of the pipe network for cooling water at the Keljonlahti power plant began in December 2008. 3,000/3,300 mm Weholite pipes were selected for the network. The combined length of the entire intake and discharge pipe network for cooling water is 1,714 metres.

A durable and reliable solution for wastewater

The Weholite tanks, with an inner diameter of three metres, delivered to the Riihimäki wastewater treatment in Southern Finland will ensure that the plant keeps running, even during emergencies.

Small group home gets its own Clean II -wastewater treatment plant

The biochemical batch treatment plant Clean I has been serving residents of detached houses for more than 15 years. Clean II, which was launched in spring 2023, uses the same technology to purify twice as much water. It can therefore be used by, for instance, two detached houses. Clean II has been installed at a small group home in Hollola.

Reservoir tank for unordinary village of Tuuri

In an ordinary village with less than 1,000 residents, a reservoir tank would normally be unnecessary, but Tuuri in Southern Ostrobothnia in Western Finland is not an ordinary village. The village tourist attraction draws visitors up to six million visitors annually. This needs special solution for potable water delivery.

Modernization of the lock on the barrage

At the Krapkowice barrage, the lock and control room are being modernized and the outports are being reconstructed. Uponor Infra delivered Weholite DN2000 SN8 polyethylene pipes as well as manholes, segmented bends and special fittings for this construction.

Retention tanks for the multimodal terminal

In Zduńska Wola - Karsznice, one of the largest multimodal terminals in Poland is being built. The most important elements of the stormwater management system of this terminal will be a battery of two Uponor Infra retention tanks.
