As part of the expansion of the Jaworzyna Economic Activity Zone (JSAG) in Jaworzyna Śląska, Uponor Infra supplied large-scale Weholite retention tanks with a total storage capacity exceeding 1,000 m³, providing a reliable stormwater retention system for one of the region’s key infrastructure projects.
The City of Espoo is the first in Finland to introduce the Vortex stormwater separation chamber. It can be used to efficiently separate floating and descending solids from stormwater. The aim is to reduce the maintenance costs of the retention system built from stormwater tunnels and prevent solids from ending up in waterbodies.
City of Lahti is building new neighborhood called Ranta-Kartano. While they were constructing basic infrastucture the city saw the possibilty to reserve some ground space for storm water management. Now there is a test running for different kind of storm water management. Uponor is involved with new type of storm water filter.
Uponor IQ stormwater solution was installed in the Rakokivi's new community centre in Nastola, Lahti, so quickly that it surprised everyone involved.
Uponor was proud for the chance to contribute to such a worthy initiative – a facility dedicated to the care of sick children. Weholite pipes are light and easy to install. They really come into their own in a project in the harbour of Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand – the extension of an old stormwater line using massivepipes with an internal diameter of 3–3.5 metres. In this busy harbour area, it is not possible to carry outlarge-scale excavation work. The soil of the region and strong tides pose their own challenges.
